Ace Payroll
I came into this project after Ace was unable to reach a satisfactory solution with a previous designer. As a result, they were somewhat gun-shy about the process. In order to make them comfortable, we had several long meetings before the first pixel was pushed, and I gave them a wide variety of different styles to choose from. They were very happy with the results. On the detail page, the final design is first, and several alternatives are shown beneath.
Cathy Day
Author Cathy Day was surprised and pleased that I took the time to read her (wonderful) book before beginning work on her site, and she says it made all the difference. This site was one of the first that I created entirely using standards based CSS and XHTML (no tables used for layout). This allows for much smaller file sizes, better accessibility, "future-proofing", and greatly reduces time required for redesigns and maintenance.
Conflict Securities
A template designed for a database driven site programmed by somebox.com.
Judy Blume / Penguin Putnam
Another successful project for Penguin Putnam, this site was launched to herald the latest book in the "Fudge" series from Judy Blume.
Hermux Tantamoq / Penguin Putnam
Author Michael Hoeye was lucky (and talented) enough to have his first book be the focus of a bidding war between three major publishers.
Legion Paper
A large site for the largest specialty / art paper distributor in the US.
Masons Games
This site sits on top of the content management system movable type, which was customized to allow Masons Games to update the content themselves.
IdealPosition.com
Database driven employment site.
Network+
Another business site showing a variety of mockups that were presented before the final site was built. Two variations are shown.
Banner Ads
I've created many banner ads over the years, and still get some twisted pleasure from the challenge of creating something attractive that performs well, and still manages to stay within filesize constraints.
